Memorial Day Message from Houston Hospice President & CEO Rana McClelland

Houston Hospice Honors Those Who Lost Their Lives During Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, we honor the military personnel who faithfully served the United States of America and gave their lives so that we have the right to “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” We are forever grateful for their brave service to our country and will forever honor their memory. As we remember those who have passed, let us also honor Veterans in our community today.

In partnership with the We Honor Veterans program, we recognize the unique needs of Veterans and their families in hospice care. As a Level-4 Partner, we provide Veteran-centric education to staff and volunteers, work closely with Veterans Affairs, and continue to reach more and more Veterans in need. It is an honor and a privilege to serve those who have served us.

Life Matters at Houston Hospice and we are grateful for the servicemen and women around the world, Veterans who work for our organization and those who have passed through these historic walls. It is because of their dedication, courage, and sacrifice that we are here to enjoy the freedoms of today.

To honor the memory of those who served our country, a Husband-Wife Volunteer Team has placed 100 U.S. Flags along the grounds of our hospice care facility. We hope that this patriotic tribute inspires gratitude and peace for passersby in the Texas Medical Center and beyond.

As I reflect on what I am grateful for, our dedicated staff and volunteers come to mind. Their skills in hospice care are state-of-the-art and their commitment to our mission has helped us serve the community for over 40 years.

To all those who serve or have served our community and our nation, I wish you health and happiness as you enjoy time with family, friends, and coworkers, this Memorial Day.

Rana McClelland, President & CEO, Houston Hospice
